Sat 1st Oct Moston Brook v Tintwistle Athletic

After getting off to a shaky start to the game Tintwistle conceded an early penalty after Burns made minimal contact with the Moston striker. The penalty was neatly tucked away with stand in keeper Phillips not having much of a chance. Tintwistle finally gathered themselves and drew level after Rathburn was played in and finished with a delightful chip. Seemingly in control of the game Tintwistle soon found themselves behind again after a Moston forward converted a driven cross into the roof of the net. Tintwistle replied instantly after Burns caught the Moston defender off guard with a long throw to Rathburn who converted with a powerful driven shot into the bottom corner. As the 1st half came to an end the scores were even at 2-2. After coming out looking more assured and composed on the ball Tintwistle failed to take numerous chances to take the lead. It wasn't until half way through the 2nd half when a Harrison corner was converted by Burton at the far post. Seemingly sitting back on a 3-2 lead Tintwistle found themselves under waves of pressure, with Burton and Burns making vital defence headers inside their own 18 yard box. Tintwistle managed to hold on to the lead and continued their unbeaten run to 9 games. Final score Moston Brook 2 - 3 Tintwistle Athletic.
